Successful Apprehension

At 15:50 this afternoon whilst one of our patrollers was at the Lakeside PnP Centre, a women shoplifted several items from the Phamacy and jumped into a vehicle which sped off in the Kirstenhof direction.
She alerted our Patrollers Alerts group and messages were out immediately to alert neighboring watch’s and various other Law Enforcement centres.
An alert staff member from Bella Pizza took down the registration and gave this to a Mountain Men response vehicle who then followed this vehicle all the way to Bishops Court along the M3.
One of KCW – Kistenhof Crime Watch SRT members happened to be on the M3 at the time, and as he approached the Stuben Road intersection there the flagged vehicle was, which he had heard about on our Whatsapp group. He and the Mountain Men vehicle boxed the vehicle in and were stopped at 16:00.
The occupants and vehicle were escorted back to Lakeside Pharmacy, where Muizenberg SAPS who had been alerted earlier, were waiting.
SAPS dealt with the case onsite and then removed the shoplifter.
Besides being great to recover the items stolen, it shows the wonderful synergy LCW is part of to alert various appropriate authorities who can deal with issues like this even out of Lakeside’s immediate area.
Within 10 minutes, these perpetrators were stopped in their tracks.
