At approx 21:50 there was a home invasion at 3 Verwood Road (Off Old Boyes Drive).
2 males dressed in dark clothing, one wearing gloves first managed to find two pairs of Garden shears from an outside store and pried open the first door into the Sun Room.
They then were busy with the second door to get into the main house when their Alert dog alerted the resident.
The resident was busy chatting to family in UK via Skype at the time and then got up to see what the commotion was about and saw the two men at the door.
The one perp punched the small glass pane causing an injury to the residents forehead.
In the struggle the resident also injured his hand on the glass.
The alarm panic button was pressed and the perps thankfully ran away.
The residents have been left very traumatized, but fortunately are ok otherwise.
