At approx 16:00 today a young 10 year old (Special Needs) boy who attends a school in Raapkraal Road in Kirstenhof, bolted through the gate when his dad arrived to collect him.
An alert went out and patrollers immediately responded from Kirstenhof, Orchard Village and Lakeside. Alerts also went out on our residential Whatsapp groups.
We were tipped off by a resident who thought he was seen near the excavator that is being used to remove reeds from the river near Wrench Monkey.
Updates were sent out via our community radio, and in just over an hour he was found safe near the excavator. He was reunited with his parents,
We really appreciate the efforts of residents, patrollers who assisted to find this young boy so soon.
Neighborhood watch’s play such a vital role in keeping us safe and adding value to the community.
