LPR Camera Challenge.

As of today (May 17) we have received R35213 towards our LPR cameras.
We are in the process of installing our first two (in a temp location) to avoid delays and we’ll feed back to the community as we go along.

The test results that were seen overnight were astounding.
One cannot believe the amount of “flagged” vehicles that are coming into our area.
The fact that they have not stopped to apply their trade in our area, is a testament to high visibility patrolling in the area.

Thank you to everyone that has contributed up till now.
Yesterday we were contacted by Murray Tocker of Durr Estates and they wish to embark on a Lakeside funding drive, where they have offered to contribute R5000 for every home over a certain value they sell in our area.
This is fantastic news and we of course welcome this drive to further this project.
You as a resident, are you on board?
Have you contributed in some way?
Come on, Let’s do this and make Lakeside and Zandvlei a safer place.
R100 per residence per month in Lakeside and Zandvlei is all we ask for 2 months.

This is from another NHW who has cameras fully installed…..It shows the power of this system and the necessity to have more cameras in our area…which as you know, do not come cheap, to be efficient……Please can we ask as many homes to contribute to this much needed form of safety as crime once again starts to escalate. Please see the pinned post for the banking details of LCW – the more help, the quicker we get the cameras and the safer we shall all be…..do it, not only for your own family’s sake, but for the sake of your neighbours too 😉

Below are two extracts from the other successful NHW – first incident was 2 days ago and the second incident was today……

Great news! Your investment in our neighbourhood security paid off today. One of our cameras detected a suspicious vehicle entering our area. The vehicle was suspected of crowbar break-ins and the authorities were informed. Minutes later the vehicle was seen leaving the area. A burglary was reported in the area during that time.
The authorities were informed, whom chased the suspects’ vehicle to Bellville. One suspect caught and 2 fled.

Today…..

Another one bites the dust!
Great news! Another crowbar gang was arrested after we’ve been alerted of the vehicle entering our neighbourhood. The Rapid Response Team was deployed, after which the vehicle was pulled over and occupants arrested. Crowbar/break-in tools found in the vehicle! Great work thanks to all the Armed Response companies involved!
